“Chiang Mai is ready to welcome visitors from around the world with the light of faith and the beauty of Lanna.”
Chiang Mai is fully prepared in every dimension — from safety and transportation to the city’s vibrant atmosphere — under the concept “City of Light.” The province continues its success after winning the Asia Festival Award 2025 and is now preparing to host the IFEA Asia Festival City Conference 2026.
“We invite everyone to experience the charm of Lanna’s lights — a festival that transforms Chiang Mai’s nights into a radiant celebration of faith and smiles.”

“Chiang Mai, the City of Lights — this is the spirit of Yi Peng that we aim to preserve and elevate to the eyes of the world.”
This year, Yi Peng Festival will take place from 3–6 November 2025 under the theme “Lanna, Worship, and Light.”The event features a variety of activities connecting traditional arts and culture with the creative economy — driving Chiang Mai forward as a Soft Power city of world-class festivals.
“We want Yi Peng to be more than a traditional festival — to become a platform for learning, economic growth, and the sustainable transmission of Lanna wisdom.”
Ms. Parichat SawetsaraneeDirector of Mega Events and International Festivals Development Department, Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB)
“Yi Peng Chiang Mai is not just a cultural event — it’s an economic engine of the city.”
TCEB has supported Yi Peng Festival for over four consecutive years, promoting it as an international MICE festival through programs that connect business and culture — such as Business Networking, Cultural Night Walk, and Journey Passport.
Over the past three years, the festival has generated an average economic impact of over 1 billion baht per year and attracted more than 200,000 visitors annually.
“This year, we are confident that Yi Peng will create both lasting impressions and new economic opportunities for Chiang Mai.”
Mr. Itthirat SinarakDirector of Chiang Mai Provincial Office of Tourism and Sports
“Let’s come together to celebrate this enchanting Yi Peng season — one of the most anticipated times of the year for travelers.”
He expressed his gratitude to the Lanna Trade Association for leading the Yi Peng Festival initiative, including the Phang Prathip candle-lighting ceremonies that will illuminate every corner of Chiang Mai.Throughout November, the city will glow with the beauty of light-worship traditions and the vibrant colors of flowing rivers — continuing the series of ‘12 Months, 12 Festivals.’
“We warmly invite all visitors to join us in celebrating this cherished cultural heritage. Chiang Mai remains a magnificent city of grace and tradition. Yi Peng awaits you this November — see you in Chiang Mai!”
