Kuan Ka Ma Community is a diverse community in the moat area of Chiang Mai, characterized by the harmonious coexistence of both Thai Yai and local Lanna people. This community represents a blend of the original cultures of each ethnic group coming together. The lantern lighting ceremony, a traditional Lanna custom, typically takes place during the 12th lunar month. Lanterns, known as 'Pratip' or 'Pratisa,' are used as vessels to contain oil or wax for illumination during the night. 'Pratip' refers to light or fire, and 'Prang' refers to a container that holds oil or wax for the light.
